Membership Infomation
Hose Company meets at  8 PM on the first Friday of  every month, except April when we have our Annual meeting on the  first Tuesday. We also meet for training and various work details at 10 AM on Sunday mornings.  Prospective members should stop by on Sunday mornings, call, or e-mail to make a specific  appointment if desired.

New members are trained in-house, as well as at the Nassau County Fire Training Academy. Training is on-going for ALL members, regardless of years of service. Safety is paramount, and training is geared to each firefighter's abilities. As members of an engine company, our primary role is fire supression through the use of fire extinguishers and hose lines. Our specialized role as the Foam Unit requires advanced training on flammable liquid fires and the use of foam. This training can take time and the probationary period can last as long as two years to complete. After probation is complete, members may choose to extend their abilities to include Emergency Medical Technician training and more.

Members are expected to attend a MINIMUM of 25% of sounded alarms. Other functions include parades, drills, and meetings. You must live in the Village of Lynbrook or a surrounding town and be at least 18 years of  age. Free Medical examinations are required annually. You will be provided bunker gear, uniform, pager radio, and trained in the use of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).  You will be expected to successfully complete training including: Essentials of Firefighting, (classroom), and Primary Firefighting (hands on firefighting- including live burns) offered by the  Nassau County  Fire Service Academy.
